I Am My Own Grandpaw

Published March 3, 2006 by John

We were talking about kids music this weekend with my sister-in-law and her husband, and playing some of our CDs, when Ralph’s rendition of I Am My Own Grandpa came on. Laughing about how we could never follow the chain of relationships, I thought “someday it would be interesting to sit down and chart it out.”

But of course, we have Google, so instead I found a great page that lays it all out in terrific style. The key is the geneology chart that highlights the different relationships as you roll over links in the song lyrics.

Give it a try. Even with the diagram I still had to scratch my head a few times. It really is a masterful puzzle.
